The St. Regis
Bora Bora.
Ninety villas on Motu Ome'e, the largest overwater rooms on the island, a fenced-off lagoon for snorkeling and an adults-only pool. Also the resort that charges for almost every boat.
Otemanu from the outer motu
The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort occupies Motu Ome'e, a reef islet on the east side of the lagoon, 20 minutes by boat from the airport.1 Tahiti Tourisme counts 90 villas, over the water or on the beach, on 20 hectares; Marriott says its overwater villas start at 1,550 square feet (about 144 m²), which it calls the largest in French Polynesia.21 Its two signatures are the Lagoonarium, a protected stretch of lagoon you snorkel from the pontoons, and butler service for every guest. This page sets out the villa types, the real price once boats and taxes are added, how Marriott Bonvoy points work here and what to watch for. All of it comes from the resort's Marriott pages, its booking engine and Tahiti Tourisme's listing, checked on 19 October 2026.

02 · Where it is
East side,
own motu, own spa islet.
Motu Ome'e is on the eastern rim of the lagoon, a short way south of the Four Seasons, and like it faces west across the water to Otemanu. Marriott puts the airport about 9 miles away; the shared boat takes 20 minutes.1 Air Tahiti's flight from Tahiti takes about 50 minutes and lands on Motu Mute; the resort's greeter waits at a St. Regis desk in the terminal and handles the luggage.91
The airport transfer is not included: 8,600 XPF one way, 17,200 XPF return, on a shared boat. Marriott's page doesn't say whether that is per person or per booking, so ask before you budget.1 The resort sits on 17 hectares by Marriott's count, 20 by Tahiti Tourisme's, which is large enough that bicycles are provided free to get around it.126
For the main island the resort runs boats to its own base, 10 minutes away. One shuttle a day is free, except on Sundays and public holidays, and must be booked with the concierge; further runs cost 3,600 XPF a person return. Boats leave the resort at 08:30, 09:40, 10:30, 13:30, 16:30 and 18:00, and come back from the base at 12:00, 14:30, 16:40 and 21:00.1 The 21:00 return is the one that makes dinner on the main island possible.
03 · Villas
Ten categories,
overwater from 144 m².
Overwater Superior
The entry overwater villa: one king, lagoon view, steps into the water. Booking it guarantees early check-in from 10:00 for a fee, which matters when the morning flight from Tahiti lands before noon.3 Every overwater villa has a separate living room and bedroom and glass floor panels.1 From 309,680 XPF a night before tax for 10–13 May 2027.8
Overwater Royal villas with pool
One bedroom at 2,798 sq ft (about 260 m²) or two bedrooms at 3,455 sq ft (about 321 m²), each with a suspended pool 4 ft (1.2 m) deep on the terrace; Marriott calls them the largest lagoon-suspended pools in the South Pacific.4 This is the resort's answer to the plunge-pool overwater suites elsewhere.
Beachside and Reef side villas
Beachside villas sit on the sand with a sofa bed and lagoon access; the one-bedroom Reef side Garden villa has a private pool at garden level; the two-bedroom Reef side Royal Garden faces the ocean.3 The Reef side Garden was the cheapest villa on the February 2027 search, at 228,000 XPF (approximately US$2,235) a night on a dining package.7
04 · The water
The Lagoonarium
and what's under the floor.
The resort's private Lagoonarium is a protected stretch of lagoon set aside for fish and coral, Napoleon wrasse among them, with several pontoons for getting in and out. Snorkel gear is free.1 Three times a week a marine specialist from Natura Ora runs a guided 'Lagoonarium Discovery'.6 Of the resorts we checked, it is the most beginner-friendly arrangement: calm, protected water where the fish are already in residence.
From the villas, the glass panels in the floor show what passes underneath, and Marriott's room list marks several overwater categories as having direct lagoon access.13 As everywhere, conditions vary along the pontoons: ask for a villa's position, not just its view category. The Main Beach has free paddleboards, kayaks and outrigger canoes; the resort has two beaches and two pools in all.6
Further afield, the resort arranges sailing, diving and the outings to meet blacktip reef sharks and rays.1 For the classic ray-and-shark stops and how to choose a boat, see snorkeling in French Polynesia.
05 · Eating and drinking
Four restaurants,
two bars.
06 · Spa, pools, children
A spa on its own islet,
a pool for adults.
The St. Regis Spa is on a private islet facing Otemanu, overlooking the Lagoonarium: five indoor treatment rooms, an outdoor pavilion, a balneotherapy room, a jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna, with Sothys plant-based treatments and the Polynesian taurumi massage on the menu.11 Marriott notes that all spa bookings require a day pass; ask what it costs before booking a treatment.1 Classes on the spa beach include yoga and breathwork.11
There are two pools. The main pool has the swim-up bar; the Oasis pool is adults-only, with private cabanas.1 Neither the Four Seasons nor the Conrad lists a permanent adults-only pool on its pages.
Children are welcome but not organised. Marriott's pages describe a St. Regis Family Traditions programme of shared family activities, children's robes and slippers, and childcare arranged on request, and list babysitting among the services; we found no kids' club with set ages or hours.61 Several villa types take two adults and two children under 12.3

08 · Points
Marriott Bonvoy,
in practice.
The St. Regis is a Marriott Bonvoy hotel: members earn points on eligible stays and can redeem them for nights here.1 Award prices move with demand. For three nights from 10 May 2027, the booking engine asked 789,200 points for an Overwater Superior villa, about 263,000 a night, and offered the Premier Otemanu villa at 769,500 XPF plus 518,000 points.10 Searched the same day, those dates cost 309,680 XPF a night in cash before tax, so check both before spending points.8
The resort also runs member promotions: between 1 October 2026 and 30 June 2027, a 'Resort Rewards' offer of 5,000 bonus points a day; and, for Silver members and above, a four-night-minimum offer with breakfast and a 10,000 XPF (approximately US$98) daily credit.61
For Hilton Honors points, the Conrad Bora Bora Nui is the island's equivalent. The Four Seasons has no points programme at all.

Verdict. Choose the St. Regis for room size, the Lagoonarium, an adults-only pool and Bonvoy points; choose the Four Seasons for children and for a bill where the airport boat is already paid. The Conrad, on the south-west side with Hilton Honors, was cheaper than both on our February 2027 check. The Westin, which reopened in September 2024 in the former Le Méridien with 128 overwater bungalows, is the other Marriott option on the lagoon.2021 Our editorial ranking is on the best Bora Bora resorts.
10 · Who it suits
Who it suits,
who it doesn't.
It suits couples who want a big overwater villa and plan to spend most of the stay on the resort, with the Lagoonarium for snorkeling, the adults-only pool for afternoons and a spa on its own islet. It suits Marriott Bonvoy members, who can earn or spend points and pick up the promotions above. And it suits nervous snorkelers better than any resort we checked on the island.
It doesn't suit families who want a supervised kids' club; there isn't one on the resort's pages. It doesn't suit anyone who dislikes being charged for each boat: the airport transfer and every main-island run beyond the first free one are extra.1 And it doesn't suit tight budgets. Its entry overwater villa cost about twice Bora Bora's average international-hotel room rate, before tax, on our February 2027 search.713
If the overwater room is the point but the bill isn't, see Bora Bora's overwater bungalows compared and where to stay on Bora Bora for the main-island options.
