records about you.
Polynesian Compass has no accounts, no forms and no newsletter. The only thing it measures is which pages are read, and you can switch that off.
Nothing to sign up to
There is no login, no contact form and no newsletter. The site never asks for your name, your email address or anything else.
What is stored in your browser
Nothing of our own. The site sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser's storage, with one exception: if you switch measurement off below, that choice is stored so it can be honoured.
How readership is measured
Aggregate readership is measured with Google Analytics 4: which pages are read, roughly where readers are, and how they arrived. Every advertising signal is denied by default under Google's Consent Mode, and nothing measured is tied to your identity by this site. Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies.
Switching measurement off
You can switch analytics off for this browser: decline analytics · allow analytics. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage as pc-consent and is read before the analytics tag loads.
No advertising, no affiliates
This site carries no advertising, no ad network and no affiliate tracking. If that changes, the About page and this page will say so before anything goes live.
Pictures and outbound links
Pictures are described and credited on the pictures and credits page. Links to airlines, ferry operators and official sources leave this site, and those operators' own policies apply there.
